Although it hasn't always been called Holabird Business Park, the property along Dundalk and Holabird avenues has for more than 80 years welcomed the rumbling of vehicle engines.

Once a sprawling army base, the park has a history that touches two world wars. Vehicles ranging from horse-drawn carriages to military cars and trucks to railroad cars have been fixtures on a property that has undergone vast changes in its lifetime.

From its start, the base was known as Camp Holabird, and it operated as a center for motor transport and repair, a function it continued to hold through World Wars I and II and up until the early 1970s when it was shut down.

The base changed names, added and subtracted buildings and roads and dabbled in other military functions, but it was always known for its strong motor vehicle presence.
