More About US

The jeep was not the only vehicle tested on Camp Holabird's winding, hilly dirt track.

A 6x6 truck known as the Superman and an amphibious vehicle called the Duck (DUKW) were built and tested in Colgate Creek. Day and night, the vehicles would be driven around the course.

Today, a baseball diamond and field occupy the space that once was the test course.

Camp Holabird was given the status of fort in 1950. In 1972, the Army vacated the property and over the next couple of years, most of the buildings were torn down. Today the property is known as Holabird Business Park.
